Alchemy began when Lizzie found the now famous little dragon sanctuary in the Welsh Marches and fostered her first dragon, Morris, who proceeded to charm the crowds wherever he went! At this time she was also performing her one-woman drama, "Boudicca!". Since then Alchemy has expanded to include a variety of excellent professional performers on a regular or occasional basis.
The lovely Laya has been working with Alchemy since 2013 and is now a fully fledged and invaluable member of the team. She comes from a background of professional work with children, but her talent for play is all her own! She has recently been polishing her skills to incorporate the full range of our activities, which she now handles with gusto and style!
The delightful Neil and his dragon Spark also join us on an occasional basis, also bringing the trusty "Sir Cool" to join the mayhem! Neil is a teacher of dance and drama to both adults and children and has a degree in dramatherapy. He has an extensive history in the performing arts.
Sylvan is Alchemy's most recent "apprentice". Our "Lady Sylvana" has already proved herself to be a most capable dragon handler and "Squire to the procession"", organising her posse of small "knights" like she's been doing it for years!
In recent times we have added various delights to our repertoire including storytelling, the dragon parade and the carnival dragons. Our clients have included Berkeley, Pembroke and Cardiff Castles, various events for CADW and the National Trust, Caerphilly "Big Cheese", Tewkesbury Medieval Festival and an assortment of local councils.
We aim to provide a cheerful, professional and flexible service, tailored to meet the requirements of each individual event. We love our work and believe that this shines through in our performances and business practice. All Alchemy performers share a passion for the arts, history and the natural world which we hope brings information and inspiration to our audiences...... as well as heaps of fun!
