Testimonials

James was completely bowled over by your dragons....even now he keeps telling everyone about the red one stealing his hat, and that the gold one liked him and let him tickle her tummy! He was completely enthralled. Thank you so much for giving him so much pleasure!
Letter from Debra, member of the public
Alchemy and the Dragons are a big hit with the kids at BloxFest. Their interaction and colourful characters (dragons too!) add a new dimension to the children's entertainment at our festival and I personally recommend them.
Sian Phillips - Chairperson BloxFest and Director, WISEmusic Events Ltd.
We are delighted with our Dragon Days, our visitors have all been thrilled with the entertainment they are getting and we have certainly seen an increase in numbers on the days that you have been with us

About Alchemy

Alchemy was founded by Lizzie in 2004. She has been a professional entertainer since 1989, when she started her first company, Sacred Flame Fire Theatre. She performed solo as Sacred Flame for five years and then in a duo with her partner Mike for seven years, developing the concept of Fire Theatre. Sacred Flame was one of the first companies to explore the use of complex story, comedy and pyrotechnics as a framework for circus fireskills. These skills included the innovative fire sword fight, firewheel and double fire devilstick routines. Favourite Sacred Flame characters were Wizard Gormless and Ermintrude the Witch, as well as Robin Hood, Maid Marian and a very silly Sheriff of Nottingham! Sacred Flame also created several large Fire Sculpture projects, alone and in collaboration with other artists. Sacred Flame clients included Warwick Castle, National Garden Festivals and South Norfolk Council.
Lizzie

Alchemy began when Lizzie found the now famous little dragon sanctuary in the Welsh Marches and fostered her first dragon, Morris, who proceeded to charm the crowds wherever he went! At this time she was also performing her one-woman drama, "Boudicca!". Since then Alchemy has expanded to include a variety of excellent professional performers on a regular or occasional basis.

Kevin

Kevin

Our trusty Kevin and his red Welsh dragon, Dewi, are usually out and about with us. Kevin started working with Alchemy in 2005. This is his first involvement in professional entertainment, but in life before Alchemy he was always a very silly person...

Neil

Neil

The delightful Neil and his dragon Spark also join us on an occasional basis, also bringing the trusty "Sir Bouncalot" to join the mayhem! Neil is a teacher of drama and dance in schools, with an extensive history in the performing arts. He is currently studying drama therapy.

Laya

Laya

Our "apprentice" Laya has been a wonderful recent addition to the team, bringing her training and experience with children and her delightful sense of fun to our Dragon Days. We also encourage voluntary involvement in our work where appropriate, giving a taste of the performing life to youngsters and adults alike.

In recent times we have added various delights to our repertoire including storytelling, the dragon procession, carnival dragons and our interactive play "Dragon Quest". Our clients have included Berkeley, Pembroke and Cardiff Castles, various events for CADW and the National Trust, Caerphilly "Big Cheese", Tewkesbury Medieval Festival and an assortment of local councils.

We aim to provide a cheerful, professional and flexible service, tailored to meet the requirements of each individual event. We love our work and believe that this shines through in our performances and business practice. All Alchemy performers share a passion for the arts, history and the natural world which we hope brings information and inspiration to our audiences...... as well as heaps of fun!
